Joe Noreau

Senior Pastor

When he was nearly five years old, Pastor Noreau was spending the night at a friend's house when his friend's mom told a Bible Story and gave the plan of Salvation. Even at a young age, he couldn’t sleep and late that night, April 12, 1985, he trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. While attending Atlantic Baptist Bible College in Chester, Virginia, he met his lovely wife, Shannon. He and Shannon were married in 2000 and after a few years, he became an Assistant Pastor and simultaneously served as a Deputy Sheriff in Sussex County, Virginia. While serving in the jail, he had the opportunity to minister to the inmates constantly. After about a year, he knew the Lord wanted him in full-time Christian service and began looking for a college to finish his degree. He graduated from Crown College in 2007 and graduated in 2011 with a degree in Missions. He and his family were missionaries to British Columbia for many years and he also previously pastored in Ohio. Pastor Noreau truly has a passion for seeing people’s lives changed by the power of the Gospel. This passion extends both to the saved in the church and to the lost in the world waiting to hear the Gospel for the very first time.

Gary Good

Assistant Pastor

Born February 17, 1959, Gary had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home. He was saved as a four-year-old at church in Santa Rosa, CA. In 1980, Gary arrived at Pensacola Christian College where he answered God's call to preach, met his future wife, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Biblical Languages. Shortly after their wedding, Gary and his bride, Karel Joy Kelly, accepted the call to Sequoia Bible Church as an assistant pastor. As the Goods faithfully served that and other small churches, they were blessed with three daughters and one son. In the fall of 1992, Karel went home to be with the Lord. The family moved to Urbana, IL, where Gary worked in his local church's bus ministry, children's ministry, and visitation ministry. Gary had a deep desire to serve the Lord full time. His prayers brought him to Sweethaven Baptist Church in June of 2003. Gary not only works with the children at Sweethaven Baptist Church, but he is also the Bible teacher at Sweethaven Christian Academy.
